Apartments in Washington D.C.
The nation's capital is on many people's travel bucket list for several reasons. Washington, as the political capital of the US, offers several different things for visitors to do and see. While it is possible to find apartments in Washington DC proper, many choose instead to rent in nearby Virginia or Maryland, as this tends to be a better strategy for finding cheap apartments. That said, there are several options for vacation rentals in Washington, so never fear if you want to be sure to stay within the confines of the nation's capital.
Visiting the Monuments of the National Mall
A key part of any trip to Washington is undoubtedly visitng the monuments on the National Mall. Monuments in this part of Washington include the Washington Monument, the obelisk structure, as well as the Lincoln Memorial, which overlooks the Mall itself. The Korean War Memorial and World War Memorial and Vietnam memorials are also in this part of Washington. Visiting them all is an easy and pleasant walk around this area, and you're not far from the White House, which, of course, merits a visit. Rooms for rent and house rentals in this area tend to be very expensive, given the touristic draw.
Washington is home to several museums, the most famous of which is perhaps the Smithsonian, home to an eclectic collection of artistic, historical, and natural historical objects. It is an excellent museum for families to visit together. The Corcoran Gallery of Art contains American art from the very founding of the country to the present, and the National Air and Space Museum is always fun for science lovers. The National Gallery of Art is another must-see, and the National Archives allow visitors to gaze upon the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and a copy of the Magna Carta.
United States Botanic Garden
While there are many beautiful green spaces in Washington, perhaps none is so beautiful as the United States Botanic Garden. The beautiful garden is a refuge in the city and is the oldest continually operating botanic garden in the United States. Four plants in the garden are believed to be directly related to the original Wilkes Expedition, an 1838 US exploration of the Pacific. Choose vacation homes or other accommodations in this area so that you'll have easy access to the beautiful gardens during your holiday.
